Akachan's 1st MRT ride

Akachan likes to look at MRT trains and he gets very excited when he sees one.

Whenever he is cranky and grouchy, I will carry him by the windows and let him watch the trains go by. He will stop crying immediately and call out in excitement.

Last Sunday we decided to bring Akachan for a MRT train ride. Our plan is to board the train at Choa Chu Kang Station and get off at Causeway Point. We will shop for a little while there before heading back to Choa Chu Kang again. We also invited Akachan's grandma and auntie Susana (aka my mother and sister) to join us.

Akachan changed and playing with his toyed while waiting.

At about 3.30pm, we set off from our home and to Choa Chu Kang Station we went. When we were at the station with Akachan in his red Quinny Zapp, mummy suddenly released that she had forgotten to bring her ezlink card. Well gotta get a single trip ticket then. Ha! I still got mine, even though I seldom utilise it.

As we pushed Akachan through the gantry and into the station lift, we realised we have to compete with able bodied young men and women to use the lift. Gosh, for goodness sake use the escalator, leave the lift to the strollers and wheelchairs. I would have used the escalator if not because of the baby stroller. Its much faster anyway. Whats with them?

Anyway, we boarded a north bound train and headed towards Causeway Point. As usual, Akachan is curious and excited about almost everything around him. The unusual environment, movement of the cabin, the scenery outside the window, and even the noise coming from the track seem to amuse him.

We arrived at Causeway Point and headed to Mos Burger for afternoon snacks. After which we brought Akachan round the mall and as usual stop by Kiddy Palace for kiddy stuff, Cold Storage for kiddy food and items, Esprit for mummy's stuff..auntie Susana's stuff and Grandma's stuff...

At about 6.30pm, its time to head back home, Akachan is tired and sleepy but wait, what was that smell... yes Akachan decided to poot poot at the mall. Not a good time but mummy and grandma were relieved as Akachan did not pass motion for the last 2 days.

The nursing room at Causeway Point is at the 3rd floor. It was very crowded as there are only 2 baby stations and 2 nursing rooms. Babies, mummies, daddies, nannies, maids and strollers were all over the place. We had to wait for quite a while before we get to clean up and change Akachan.

Finally it was done and we set off for home in a south bound train...with Akachan peacefully napping in my arms.

Yummy porridge for my Akachan

It weekend again. Akachan is not going to his grandparent's home as he used to do during weekdays.

What shall we cook for him today? How about some yummy fish porridge with green vegetables and carrot. Ok here's my secret recipee:

Ingredients
Fish meat - Gaw fish (two table spoon, chopped)
Carrot (1 table spoon, chopped)
Green vegetable - Xian Cai (2 table spoon chopped)
Rice (1 table spoon)

Wash the rice and put them into a small claypot. Fill the claypot with about 2/3 full of water and boil the content. When the content starts to boil remember to stir the content. Don't let the rice stick to the bottom of the claypot, if not the porridge can get a burnt smell. After stirring, slow boil the content for another 12 - 15 minute. Add the chopped carrot. Slow boil for 10 minutes. Add the fish and slow boil for another 5 minute. Stir the porridge as it boils slowly and at the same time mash the content using the stir spoon. Stir for 10 minute and add boiled water if the porridge gets too dry. Finally add the chopped vegetable. Stir boil for another 5 to 10 minutes to correct texture and we are ready to serve.

The resut - yummy fish porridge with vegetable and carrot.

Akachan enjoying his fish porridge.

Is it delicious?

You bet!

My Akachan

Hi, my name is Marcus and this is a space created for my son Akachan. Akachan is the nick of my baby boy who is 9 months and 9 days old today, weighing about 9.5kg and is about 75cm tall.
Yep, this blog is long overdue. That's why his mummy has been bugging me from time to time about Akachan's blog... so and so has a blog for their baby and on and on and ...ok here we go...

Well, my Akachan learned to crawl about 4 weeks ago and he is crawling all over the house now. Everything he sees, he wants to touch, everything he touches will end up in his mouth. Mummy was a little paranoid about cleanliness, cleaning and wiping everything in Akachan's path... and somehow it became my responsibility to make sure that there is no lizard poo anywhere in our house in case Akachan thought that it might be something yummy.

Well how could I start my very first post without a very handsome photo of my Akachan.

This is Akachan when he was 1 day old.

And this is when he was 1 week old.

What about some recent photos of him... hmmm... he is already more than 9 months old. Of course there are recent pictures, but let me find my damm camera cable first. ;) I promise, it will be in the next post and the many more posts to come.
